"When you think about surfing, you think of warmth, sun and sand. Snow, cold and Northern Lights are not the first things to come to mind," writes AFP photographer Olivier Morin. "So when I heard about surfing in the Arctic, I knew it would make a great story. Turns out a surfer who rides a wave in icy cold water is no different from the surfer in Hawaii. The spirit is the same."
