"I first saw the desert in 2006, when I moved to the United Arab Emirates for work," writes Dubai-based photographer Karim Sahib.

"My country Iraq, the land of two rivers, is green. We do have some desert areas, but I wasn’t born or raised there. So I was fascinated by this new landscape. Still am."
